VeriFit® Quantitative Respiratory Fit Testing

VeriFit® Quantitative

Respirator Fit Testing

Quantitative Respirator Fit Testing.
The Highest Level of Protection.

Quantitative fit testing (QNFT) is the most accurate fit testing method - using data to calculate the fit factor. Passing a real-time quantitative respirator fit test proves that the facepiece is sized and donned correctly. Selecting properly fitting respirators and checking daily donning protects workers against insufficient oxygen environments, harmful dusts, fogs, smokes, mists, gases, vapors, and sprays. These hazards may cause cancer, lung impairment, diseases, or death.

Powered by Sibata

VeriFit® Quantitative is manufactured by Sibata Scientific Technology LLC and is exclusively sold by Nextteq® International (NXI®). Sibata, founded in 1921, has become a world leader in environmental testing and developed its first Fit Testing device in 1980.  Approx. 50 years of technology and quality is behind the new VeriFit® Quantitative.

Better Value

At Nextteq®, we believe that the products we provide, especially ones that focus on worker safety, should be reliable, high quality, and affordable.  The VeriFit® Quantitative does just that!

VeriFit® Quantitative for QNFT

Respiratory fit testing is extremely important in a variety of industries and applications.

Respirators properly worn can protect workers against hazards that may cause cancer, lung impairment, diseases, or death.

The VeriFit® Quantitative can help confirm that there is a tight seal and thereby ensure that workers are receiving the expected level of protection and safety.  The instrument measures the fit of the respirator or mask while the user simultaneously performs a series of moving, breathing, and talking exercises designed to simulate the same movements made in the field. With step-by-step guidance, the instrument walks you through the fit test procedure. Once the fit test is complete, it is easy to generate the individual's report.

A rugged and easy-to-use fit tester can increase your staff’s safety, with software and features to improve your program’s efficiency and productivity from training through regulatory compliance reporting.

Measurement Modes

  • Daily Check:  Inspects and verifies the operation of the VeriFit® Quantitative MT-11 before conducting tests

  • Training:  Allows one to practice actual respirator donning and adjustment using tube joints or cartridge adaptor

  • Fit Test:  Quantitative fit testing following standards including CSA, JIS, ISO, and OSHA for the purpose of selecting a respirator that fits an individual

  • Fit Check:  Conservatively allows user, using Test Guides, to ensure there is a proper respirator seal before entering potentially high hazard areas

NIOSH and OSHA

Their historic roles played in Respiratory Protection for Workers spanning 50 years!

NIOSH's role:

NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) was established in 1970 as part of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Its primary role is to conduct research and provide recommendations to prevent work-related injury and illness. NIOSH plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of respirators used by workers. Their primary functions include:

  • Certification
  • Research and Development
  • Guidance and Education
  • Monitoring and Evaluation

In essence, NIOSH acts as a watchdog, ensuring that respirators are safe, effective, and meet the needs of workers exposed to various airborne hazards. By certifying respirators, conducting research, providing guidance, and monitoring performance, NIOSH helps to protect the health and safety of workers across a wide range of industries.

OSHA's role:

The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 established both NIOSH and OSHA within the Department of Labor. NIOSH is responsible for the testing and approval of all respirators used in occupational settings. OSHA’s mission is to ensure safe and healthful working conditions by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance.

Under its authority in the OSH Act, OSHA promulgated the Respiratory Protection Standard 29 CFR 1910.134, which requires workplaces using respirators to establish a respiratory protection program and use only NIOSH-approved respirators. This standard also establishes requirements for proper selection, use, and maintenance to ensure the effectiveness of the respirator, as well as medical evaluations, fit testing, and training to maximize protection for the user.

Did you know?

In 2019, OSHA announced changes to their Respiratory Protection Standard. The changes affect the Ambient Aerosol Condensation Nuclei Counter (CNC) Quantitative Fit Test (QNFT) Protocols in 29 CFR 1910.134, Appendix A.

With the Modified CNC protocols, the respirator fit testing process is faster and more streamlined. The modified CNC protocols enable fewer, shorter fit test exercises: Instead of eight exercises, the new rules require four. Total fit test time is reduced by almost 5 min.

You can comply faster without compromising safety!
